Service Description

Hindu temple poojas are holy rites conducted in the temple's sanctum, usually under the direction of a priest, to worship and honor a god. A number of offerings, including flowers, incense, food, water, and lamps, are made during the ceremony as Sanskrit mantras are chanted. The deity's presence is invoked at the start of the ceremony, which then moves on to several symbolic gestures of devotion, such as giving devotees prasadam (blessed food) and waving aarti (light).
